Press release issued on behalf of the Justice for Robert Delany Campaign:

Subject: Re: Bluebell United v Celtic legends

Following discussions between Celtic Football Club and the Delany family we have been assured the match scheduled to take place on the 4th of August and associated events have nothing to do with Celtic F C and are not supported by the club.Former players who are employees of Celtic F C will not be participating in the game or associated events .

Any former players who might participate will not be representing the club and will not use the title Celtic legends.

July 2011:

The Delany family along with Terence Flanagan, Fine Gael TD met Alan Shatter, Minister for Justice, as part of the Justice for Robert Delany Campaign.  The Minister sympathised with the family and assured them of his full support and he reassured the family that the investigation into Robert’s shooting remains open and ongoing.

 Following the meeting, Robert Delany’s father, Terry, stated the family were very happy with the outcome of the meeting and the Minister’s in depth knowledge of Robert’s case and the assurances he had given to the family.  The family also expressed their appreciation to Terence Flanagan TD, who has given great support to the family.
